Dr. Krause received her bachelor of science degree from Michigan State University and graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Dr. Krause has always had an interest in behavior. She practiced general pet medicine in the metro Detroit area for 15 years. During that time, she started helping pets with behavior issues. Soon, Dr. Krause realized she wanted to devote her entire career to the field of veterinary behavior. Therefore, in 2007, Great Lakes Veterinary Behavior Consultants was established.

Dr. Krause has attended hundreds of hours of continuing education in behavioral medicine. Education in veterinary behavior is continual and ever-evolving. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional.

She has presented talks for the Southeastern Michigan Veterinary Medical Association technician continuing education program and the Dearborn Animal Shelter. She was treasurer of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) from 2008 to 2016. Dr. Krause saw clinical cases with Dr. John Ciribassi, DACVB from 2016-2017. Dr. Krause taught veterinary technology students at Baker College from 2008-2020.

Angie got her start in training more than 10 years ago. She joined the Michigan Humane Society Pawsitive Start Program as a volunteer dog trainer. There, she taught basic obedience to shelter dogs and did some behavior modification with some of the dogs that needed more help. Her passion for helping shelter dogs, as well as having a dog that struggled in some situations, led her to pursue an education in canine behavior. She graduated from the prestigious Karen Pryor Academy as a Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP) in January, 2015. In 2023, she earned her certificate for the Puppy Start Right Course for Instructors.

Since education in behavior and teaching is a life-long process, she regularly attends seminars and conferences to further her understanding of canine behavior and welfare. She has attended ClickerExpo, APDT Conference, and the Midwest Veterinary Conference.

Angie and her current furry kid, CeCe, an Amercan Staffordshire Terrier, live in Farmington. Angie is the Dog Ambassador for the city's Farmer's Market.
